Bespoke commissions
Because every commission at Atelier Barnard is designed, made and set specifically for one client, bespoke pieces are non-returnable and non-refundable once the design has been approved in writing and stones have been sourced or cut. This is standard practice across the fine jewellery industry.
We will, however, correct any manufacturing defect at our cost, and we work collaboratively at every stage of the commission so that the finished piece is exactly what was agreed in the design phase.
Cancellation before sourcing
If you wish to cancel a commission before stones have been sourced and before any metal is cast, please contact us in writing. We will refund any amounts paid above the deposit; the deposit itself covers design and consultation work undertaken to that point and is non-refundable.
Resizing and aftercare
Every ring made at the atelier is sized at fitting. The first resize within twelve months of collection is included at no cost where the design permits. Cleaning, rhodium re-plating where applicable, and routine inspection of stones is offered to commissioning clients at cost.
Restoration and setting work
Restoration and setting work is non-refundable once the work has commenced. We will discuss every restoration in detail before any irreversible step is taken, and we will pause work and contact you if we discover anything during the work that materially changes the original plan.
