Atelier Barnard
Precision in its purest form.

Diamond-set Atelier Barnard jewellery photographed close up.

Hand-setting for fine jewellery houses and private collectors who value the unseen perfection behind every piece.

The atelier

The hand behind the piece is the whole story.

Atelier Barnard is the Palma workshop of Ian Barnard, master diamond setter and jeweller. Every commission is one of one, and every stone is set by hand.

The work is quiet, exacting, and personal: engagement rings, bespoke commissions, restoration, and diamond setting for clients who care as much about the finish as the stones themselves.

At the bench

Set by hand, checked by the same hands.

In fine jewellery, the most expensive thing on a piece is rarely the metal or the stone. It is the standard of the setting.

A perfectly set diamond disappears into the piece, and the light does the rest of the work. That is the standard Atelier Barnard exists to bring to private commissions in Mallorca.

Who the atelier is for

Quiet money. Considered commissions.

Private clients on the island looking for a jeweller who will treat a commission as more than a transaction.

Couples flying in to design an engagement ring against the backdrop of the place where the proposal will happen.

Owners and crew of the boats that arrive each summer in Palma, who want a piece made discreetly, well, and on a sensible timeline.

Families with inherited pieces that deserve to be brought back into use rather than left in a drawer.

Begin a commission

Every piece begins with a conversation.

Most commissions start with a quiet meeting at the workshop on Carrer de Sant Miquel, or a video call. There is no obligation — only an honest assessment of what you have in mind, what it should cost, and what it will take to make it well.
