Atelier Barnard

Bespoke commissions

A piece designed for one person.

Beyond engagement rings, the atelier takes a small number of fully bespoke commissions each year: pendants, signet rings, earrings, cuffs, and pieces built around stones a client has inherited or sourced.

What we take on.

The atelier specialises in fine pieces in platinum, 18ct yellow gold, 18ct rose gold and 18ct white gold, set with diamonds, sapphires, emeralds, rubies, and unusual coloured stones.

Typical commissions: engagement and wedding rings, eternity bands, pendants and necklaces built around a single stone, hand-engraved signet rings, drop and stud earrings, and family pieces reworked from inherited gold and stones.

Budgets.

Commissions at the atelier start at around €2,500 for a simple piece in gold, set with small accent stones. Most commissions sit between €5,000 and €20,000.

The honest conversation about budget happens at the first meeting, before any design work begins.

Timeline.

Most commissions take six to twelve weeks from first conversation to finished piece. If you have a specific date, tell us at the first meeting, and we will work backwards from it honestly.

Begin a commission

Every piece begins with a conversation.

Most commissions start with a quiet meeting at the workshop on Carrer de Sant Miquel, or a video call. There is no obligation — only an honest assessment of what you have in mind, what it should cost, and what it will take to make it well.
