- Most bespoke engagement rings at Atelier Barnard fall between €5,000 and €25,000, with the largest part of that cost being the centre stone. Settings start at around €2,500 if you are bringing your own diamond. There is no ceiling — commissions above €50,000 are not unusual.
- How long does a bespoke engagement ring take to make?
- From first conversation to finished ring is typically six to ten weeks. Stone sourcing can shorten or extend that depending on what you want. Urgent commissions can sometimes be completed faster and should be discussed at the first meeting.
- Can I use a diamond I already own?
- Yes. Many commissions at the atelier are built around a stone the client has inherited, bought elsewhere, or salvaged from a previous piece. Bring the stone — and its paperwork if you have it — to the first appointment.
- Do I need to be in Mallorca for the whole process?
- No. Many clients only visit Mallorca once, for the final fitting and collection. The design phase can be done by video call and email. Sketches and CAD renders are sent before any metal is cut.
- Is the work hallmarked and insured?
- Yes. Every piece is hallmarked to Spanish standards, stamped with the atelier maker’s mark, and supplied with full GIA or equivalent certification on diamonds. An insurance valuation is provided with every commission at no additional cost.
